Are you looking for an indoor way to keep your kids entertained? This Free Printable Christmas Word Search will keep up the holiday spirit under the roof!
Who wouldn’t like a cozy family night indoors?
Get on your favorite holiday PJs, grab a hot cocoa, and lay under the Christmas tree to complete this fun word search.
Sound like a great plan, right?
Now you can make it happen by downloading our festive Christmas Word Search!
But that is not all. You can also use it in your classroom, your Christmas party, or even your Sunday school.
It is not only fun but also educational. It helps kids practice reading, spelling, vocabulary, and concentration.
And the best part is that most kids can play it. I recommend it for 5+ children, but if your kids can read before that age, they will still have fun.
If you are working with a big group, I’d recommend splitting the kids into 2 groups.
Let the youngest children find the words at their own pace. And time the older kids to make the game even more challenging.
If you happen to also have toddlers, you can let them participate by asking them to find specific letters.
As you can see, this game can be fun for everyone!

Printable Christmas Word Search
Start having holiday fun by downloading this Christmas Word Search at the end of this post.
Then, print it on regular white paper, laminate it if you want, and let your kids start looking for the words.
I would only laminate this game if you are planning to reuse it next year. Otherwise, you’ll be perfectly fine by just printing multiple copies for your group.
There are 20 Christmas words hidden in this puzzle:
- Bells
- Candles
- Cards
- Caroling
- Celebrate
- Cheer
- Chimney
- Christmas
- December
- Elves
- Giving
- Greetings
- Jolly
- Merry
- Nativity
- Peace
- Reindeer
- Santa
- Star
- Tree
I wanted this game to be engaging for both younger and older kids, so I hid the words strategically. I would say it has medium-level difficulty.
Most of the words are hidden vertically and horizontally, with no words backward.
There are also some words hidden diagonally. Four to be precise.
If you and your kids are struggling to find one, take a peek at the answer key here.
