Looking for a way to get your kids excited about the spooky season?
Download this free printable Halloween I Spy game. It will provide lots of fun while letting your kids work on various skills.
According to studies, I Spy games help children develop their language, visual tracking, visual discrimination, and attention. It also encourages math learning, which makes it perfect for those little ones learning to count!
There are many fun ways to play with this printable. Here are a few things that you can do:
- Let your kids use it as a coloring page and paint all the little figures. Then, help them count and write down the answers.
- Make your kids color the items as they count them. Use a different color for each group.
- Look at all the pictures with your child and start describing one object until they guess what it is. Then, color all the objects in that group and count them.
- If you want to re-use this printable next year, let your kids color all the objects however they want. Then, laminate the sheets and use water-based markers to spot the objects.
Let your kids count all the groups of objects available on the sheet, even if they are not asked to do so.
And if you want to extend the activity, you can try to find the same objects at home or in picture books.
Additionally, if your children are interested in drawing, help them try to replicate all the Halloween items on a different sheet of paper.
You can use this printable at any time that you need to keep your kids busy: before treat or treating, at school parties, at playdates, or on a road trip.
You can also pair it with crayons for a non-candy treat for your trick-or-treaters.
